| Description: | Music Box Records proudly presents a 3-CD set featuring seven French soundtracks composed between 1982 and 1994: Dames galantes (Gallant Ladies, 1990) and Priez pour nous (Pray for Us, 1994) (both composed by Raymond Alessandrini), Lâ??Addition (The Caged Heart, 1984) and Tristesse et Beauté (Sadness and Beauty, 1985) (both composed by Jean-Claude Petit), Lâ??amour propre ne le reste jamais très longtemps (1985) (composed by Jean-Claude Vannier) and Salutâ?¦ jâ??arrive (1982) (composed by Christian Pégand).
The first disc features two soundtracks by Raymond Alessandrini: the singular period drama Dames galantes mixing contemporary and Renaissance music and the satirical Priez pour nous with its light-hearted and sophisticated score. The second CD features two Jean-Claude Petitâ??s soundtracks from the 1980s: the crime drama Lâ??Addition with its punchy score mixing a classical touch and a pop/rock vibe and the tormented love story Tristesse et Beauté with its surprising score mixing experimental music and romantic pieces. The third disc is dedicated to two arrangers: Jean-Claude Vannierâ??s Lâ??amour propre... featuring a mischievous score with colorful arrangements and Christian Pégandâ??s comedy score for Salutâ?¦ jâ??arrive with different musical styles (jazz, funk, waltz and a torch song).
Disc 1 has been remastered from the scoring sessions elements. Discs 2 and 3 features the remastered LP presentations. This 3-CD box set includes a 16-page booklet with liner notes by Albéric Marsolet, discussing the films and the scores. The release is limited to 300 units. - Limited Edition of 300 units
