Description: | CD reissue of Talk Talkâ??s iconic â??Itâ??s My Lifeâ?? album in new card packaging in celebration of its 40th anniversary.
Originally released in February 1984, â??Itâ??s My Lifeâ?? is the band's second album and followed the 1982 release of their debut â??The Partyâ??s Overâ?? which initially received moderate success in the UK reaching number 21 in the UK chart and finding some global success.
By the time they came to writing and recording â??Itâ??s My Lifeâ?? the band had gone from the four piece to a three with Simon Brenner leaving the band. The album initially found considerable international success. â??Such A Shame', the album's first single was a top 10 hit across Europe and the albumâ??s title track entered global Top 40â??s including in the US.
Interestingly the album and singles from this album were largely ignored in the UK at the time, but their legacy and importance of a band has blossomed since and they can count Radiohead, Blur, Elbow and St. Vincent amongst their fans. Where the UK didnâ??t connect with it at first, the rest of the world did and in time this infiltrated the UK and they were eventually embraced maybe in part to covers from Eurodance groups Gigabyte and Scanner but possibly most of all by the Gwen Stafani fronted No Doubt finding huge global success with their cover on â??Itâ??s My Lifeâ?? in 2003.
