Description: | Limited gold colored vinyl LP pressing. While the Summer of Love and the hippie movement were drawing to a close, the mid-seventies continued to be very kind to the music of legendary boogie kings Canned Heat. With their days with United Artists and Atlantic Records behind them, they flew to Miami and began recording their latest material, the album The Ties That Bind, with Tom Dowd and Fito de la Parra. After the recording sessions were completed, the tapes were stored and never released. Originally, it was believed that they were destroyed in a fire at their manager's house in the late seventies. Years later, Fito found the 1974 tapes, and they were rescued and restored by the blues classic and briefly released on a rare CD in the early 1990s. |
