Description: | Yogee New Waves, the band that continues to carry on true city pop, has finally completed their long-awaited second full album, 'WAVES'!Yogee's long-awaited new work, which is the first since their first album 'PARAISO,' which was featured in various media as the best disc of 2014 and is still a long seller, includes 4 new songs and a remix of 'Sunset Town' by Dorian, for a total of 5 songs. 'Like Sixteen Candles' and 'Sunset Town' work as double A-sides, and are songs that give a glimpse of a slightly more mature side of the band, making you feel their evolution as a band. M-3 'Night is Coming' is a long 8-minute song that introduces percussion and synths, giving it a new floating feeling, and is a romantic and fantastical song that allows each listener to imagine a drama. M-4 is 'Lemon Tea,' which is also sung in Kakudate's solo live performance, and is recorded in a field recording at a certain place in Setagaya. And at the end, a remix of 'Sunset Town' by Dorian, a track maker who also worked on Nanao Tabito x Yakenohara's masterpiece 'Rollin' Rollin', is included. This urban and dreamy disco tune is a great feeling song that shows the excellent compatibility between Yogee and Dorian. It is a genre-less yet new pop music that digests the great music of the past, both city pop and 1990 Shibuya-kei, and updates it with an expression that only they can do. Kengo Kakudate, who has an outstanding sense of melody and is steadily increasing his expressiveness and presence, is a big presence, and he is about to become a rock band that represents the 'city' of today. Yogee New Waves has established an absolute position as the leader and core of the new generation, transcending the boundaries of major/indie, and this long-awaited new work is a must-listen masterpiece! The recording engineer is Ryo Ikeuchi, who has worked on many works by Keiichi Sogabe, including Sunny Day Service. The artwork is made up of photos of the band members taken by the same generation and cutting-edge photographer Kodai Kobayashi. All photos are film, and the fold-out booklet is designed as a poster. The booklet also includes self-written liner notes by vocalist Kakudate explaining all the songs. LISTEN:https://open. Spotify. com/album/0CZfHYuMfjyuFZ5MaeQjQQCD Digipack release EP. |
