 | Description: | "The classic 1977 punk album â?? remastered â??lost â??77 mixesâ?? edition. Limited edition in transparent purple vinyl LP - first time this edition not in black. Gatefold sleeve, with notes by Thunders biographer Nina Antonia. In 1977 this classic punk album had a sound flaw and wasn't heard properly until it was recompiled in 1994 - after both former New York Dolls Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan had died. Now songs like Born to Lose and Chinese Rocks are acclaimed as punk anthems. The album was remastered and repackaged in 2017 to celebrate its 40th anniversary, but has only ever been in black vinyl since then.
""That 'L.A.M.F.', the only studio album by Johnny Thunders' swaggering, smacked-up post New York Dolls outfit, The Heartbreakers, is one of New York punk's defining artefacts (despite being recorded in Britain), is beyond dispute. 12 songs that put the guitarist's abiding passions - Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones, Phil Spector and Shadow Morton girl groups, glam, garage, trash and junk - in perfect, speedy collision."" - Damien Love, Uncut mag, 9/10." - PURPLE LINER NOTESLimited purple colored vinyl LP pressing. The Heartbreakers' 1977 classic album 'L.A.M.F. The lost '77 mixes' - reissued in transparent purple vinyl. 2017 remaster. Johnny Thunders & Jerry Nolan formed the Heartbreakers in 1975 out of the ashes of the New York Dolls. Firstly they were together with Richard Hell, and then teamed up with Billy Rath & Walter Lure. Malcolm McLaren, who'd managed the Dolls, invited them join the Sex Pistols, Clash & Damned in the UK for the infamous 'Anarchy' tour in 1976. Staying in London at the heart of the punk scene for the following year, they signed to Track Records and recorded 'L.A.M.F.' The album was acclaimed as a classic, but was famously flawed with a 'muddy mix' caused by a mastering fault. A properly audible version remained unheard until 1994 when Jungle sifted through the original master-tapes and reconstructed it. It was remastered to celebrate it's 40th anniversary in 2017, but has only been available in black vinyl since. Johnny had died in 1991, quickly followed by Jerry's death in 1992. Bassist Billy Rath died in 2014 and guitarist and co-front-person Walter Lure died in 2020. Their influence on the punk scene in 1977 has permeated through to today's new rock'n'roll scene, with many artists over the years citing 'L.A.M.F.' as a huge influence. The album regularly appears in lists of the Best Punk Albums, such as in both Mojo and Q, and songs like Born to Lose, Chinese Rocks and One Track Mind are now acclaimed as punk anthems"L.A.M.F. - the lost '77 mixes (Ltd. transparent pu" is a special limited edition LP by Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, released by Jungle Records / Indigo.
