This album by trumpeter Freddie Hubbard was recorded in 1962 and released by blue note records. Hubbard teams up with james Spaulding(alto and flute), Herbie Hancock(piano), Reggie Workman(bass) and Clifford Jarvis(drums). This quintet performs four Hubbard originals and one standard. All Hubbard blue note albums are excellent; "Hub tones" is no exception. The well known cover artwork (designed by Reid Miles/with photography by Francis Wolff) was used several times by blue note and also by other artist in order to pay hommage.
