"Whistle Stop" was recorded in 1961 and it was released on Blue Note Records. The quintet - besides Kenny Dorham - consists of Hank Mobley (tenor sax), Kenny Drew (piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and drummer (Philly Joe Jones). Some critics picked "Whistle Stop" as one of 200 albums that belongs in every jazz record collection. "Whisle Stop" contains an all-Dorham program and displays the trumpeter's compositional talents perhaps better than any other recording. Recommended with enthusiasm.
