That week??s Singles chart also featured Top 20 Christmas hits by Mud (#1) The Wombles (#2) The Goodies (#7) and Gilbert O??Sullivan (#12).
Showaddywaddy first burst onto the scene by appearing on the early
1970 s version of ??Britain??s Got Talent?, ??New Faces? winning one heat, in
November 1973 and were runners up in the "All Winners Final", which
was broadcast on 28th December 1973.
Less than a year later, they had a Christmas hit after a successful 1974
which continued throughout the decade, with Showaddywaddy
ultimately being crowned as the Band/Artist with the most UK hits in the
1970 s than any other act, including Abba!
Dubbed the hardest working Band in Britain, Showaddywaddy have 80
Tour dates between July 2024 and July 2025 with 20 dates from 1 st
