â??Parisâ?? was recorded in the dramatic surroundings of the Philharmonie de Parisâ?? Grand Salle Pierre Boulez one and a half years after his magnum opus, â??Music For Animalsâ??, â??a musical waterfall,â? according to PopMatters, â??of monumental proportionsâ?. In whatâ??s becoming a tradition, it follows 2013â??s â??Spacesâ??, a Pitchfork Album of the Year taped at shows over the preceding 18 months, and 2020â??s â??Tripping With Nils Frahmâ??, also released as a film. The latter, arriving in the wake of 2019â??s â??All Melodyâ??, was recorded during shows in Berlinâ??s grandiose Funkhaus Saal 1, once the largest studio in the former GDRâ??s radio complex. â??Parisâ??, nonetheless, is Frahmâ??s first live album from a single night, March 21, 2024, and contains ten tracks over a running time of 84 minutes. It will be available as a limited edition 2LP.
