Description: | Beethoven is said to have once stated that he would give his entire fame as a composer for the invention of the folk tune â??Innsbruck, ich muÃ? dich lassenâ?. Today, we do not know for sure whether this tradition is true. What is certain, however, is that our folk tunes are the supporting pillar, the foundation on which developments in art music and popular music are built. All nations know this, only we Germans have suppressed and forgotten this fact. Many nations are guests in our country with their traditional songs and dances, and we have made their beautiful songs our own - but we no longer sing our own, the umbilical cord to our traditional songs has been broken. Annette Hartwig and Andreas Hermeyer have gone in search of traces in order to rediscover our beautiful song and bring it back to life in a simple way that does justice to its origins. Their interpretations make everything audible that makes our folk song what it is: the longing, the sorrow, the profound meaning and the lust for life - all paired with a wonderful wealth of melodies. May this recording also bring the essentials closer to the young people of our pop generation in an audible - recognizable - perceptible way! Music for open hearts. Tradition without blinkers for the discerning.
