After the final and irrevocable disbandment of The Beatles in 1969, the Californians from Creedence Clearwater Revival were for some time considered the most commercially successful band and held the crown of the best in pop and rock music. The CCR management fueled this legend in every possible way. After the release of "Cosmo's Factory", the San Francisco-based quartet embarked on a short tour of Mondo Bizzaro 1, which was very successful. Everyone was expecting a new LP from these guys. John Fogerty was incredibly charged to make a really rock album and this time he was going to prepare the material without regular covers, as it happened before. "Pendulum" went on sale in December 1970, along with the book "The Inside Creedence" by John Hollywall, which the organizers intended to be included with the album. The number of only pre-orders for a copy of the first print run of this book has exceeded 40 thousand. J. Fogerty didn’t bend his soul when he announced that the future disc would be unusual. Against the background of the former stably recognizable sound of the standard (two guitars and a rhythm section) quartet, which has acquired a kind of brand peculiar only to CCR with the five previous studio albums, "Pendulum" surprises (and sometimes alarms) with an abundance of organ music and saxophone. To some extent, this unexpected decision was due to the long-standing friendship of the four Creedence with the instrumental rhythm and blues formation Booker T. & M.G.'s, which has e. the organ was an essential tool

On this album, the band decided to experiment a little, which was very fashionable in the early 70's. But the sound remained the same. There are a lot of beautiful songs on the album, but that's the way it should be, it's Creedence.

Pendulum is not my favourite album from Creedence Clearwater Revival, but it sounds quite well. Worth to listen anyway.

Penúltimo disco de estudio de CCR y el último con John Fogerty, realmente bueno siguiendo la línea de sus antecesores; incluye sus éxitos Molina, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Sailor's Lament, etc; edición remasterizada con bonus tracks y booklet ampliado además de 3 Bonust Tracks.
