"Mother Focus" is the fifth studio album by the renowned Dutch progressive rock band Focus, released in 1975. This CD edition brings to life a unique blend of jazz fusion, funk, and rock elements that marked a stylistic shift for the band. Known for their instrumental prowess and innovative soundscapes, Focus delivers an accessible yet sophisticated collection of tracks on "Mother Focus," including highlights like "I Need a Bathroom" and the title track itself. The band's earlier successes include international hits such as "Hocus Pocus" and "Sylvia," which established them as pioneers in progressive rock during the early 1970s.
Focus was formed in Amsterdam in 1969 by keyboardist Thijs van Leer and guitarist Jan Akkerman. Their virtuosic musicianship and adventurous compositions have earned them critical acclaim worldwide. Over their career, they have received several awards and continue to influence generations of musicians with their dynamic live performances.
This release comes from Red Bullet, a respected Dutch record label known for its commitment to high-quality reissues of classic albums across genres. Founded in 1968 by Willem van Kooten, Red Bullet has played an essential role in promoting Dutch music internationally while maintaining exceptional production standards.
The fifth studio album by the band Focus, released in 1975.Some tracks on the album mark a departure from the progressive rock style that dominated the group's prior work, and herald a funk music style with light jazz and pop at the centre. I recommend.
