The seventeenth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush. It was released on May 14, 2002. Vapor Trails reached No. 3 in Canada and No. 6 in the United States. I recommend.

I like this album. My favorite song is vapor trails, earthshine, sweet Miracle, . Geddy lee bass and alex lifeson guitar is very nice.

Auch wenn Rush für meinen Geschmack vor allem in den 70ern und bis Anfang der 80er die besten Scheiben veröffentlicht haben, bin ich von diesem Album völlig begeistert. Es klingt anders, und ist doch ganz eindeutig Rush. Den Stil sehe ich irgendwo in der Schnittmenge aus neuerem Hardrock, Progressive Rock und Alternative Rock. Hier treffen eingängige Songs auf filligrane Strukturen, wohl dosierte Härte auf wunderschöne ruhige Momente und kein Stück klingt wie das andere. Das Album wirkt vor allem überhaupt nicht, als hätten es ein paar 50-Jährige aufgenommen, sondern sehr frisch und irgendwie durchaus modern (ohne aber den typischen Stil der Band zu verleugnen). Die Instrumentalleistungen des Trios sind wieder einmal phänomenal, und doch immer völlig songdienlich eingesetzt, so dass der Hörer nicht "erschlagen" wird, bei aufmerksamem Zuhören aber immer wieder interessante Details entdecken kann. Für mich wohl das beste Album der Band seit "Moving Pictures" und sicher eines der härtesten der Band.
