After Jimmy Somerville left Bronski Beat, he joined forces with Richie Coles to form the duo Communards and continue his singing career. Their first hit was a soaring cover of "Don't Leave Me This Way", which had originally been a hit for Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes and Thelma Houston. They followed with their own "Disenchanted" as well as a cover of the Jackson 5's "Never Can Say Goodbye", "Victims" and many more, all included on this disc.
