Cattle Decapitation plays a mix of Grindcore and Death Metal, and this is their fifth album. Honestly the band seems to be more famous due to their album covers, which are excellent, than to their sound.

I think this album was the toe dipping regarding this band's change in their style. They went from a more conventional Death-grind band that was pretty deep in that scene to become this well known band that they have become with their last 2 releases. I think that this album makes a cut in this band's timeline, The albums that came before this one are not for everybody in my opinion, although i very much enjoy them myself. I think after this release they took a more "friendly" approach to their style of death-grind.
