2009 two CD release from one of the biggest and most distinctive stars of the poetic "fado" genre. Of mixed Portuguese and Spanish parentage, Misia has lived the life-cabaret, dancing, and fado. She has achieved worldwide acclaim since 1993, winning music prizes in Japan and Germany as well as at home in Portugal, and selling hundreds of thousands of albums in the process. Ruas (Roads) takes the form of journey across two CDs. On "Lisboarium", the first, Misia dreams of Lisbon far away, and on "&Tourists", she brings together the work of artists from a wide range of musical backgrounds-including Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt" and Joy Division's "Love Will Tear US Apart". a truly remarkable collection of songs from a truly remarkable voice.
