The album is a world CD. - Bajourou is the name of an acoustic project for guitarist Djelimady Tounkara and vocalist Lafia Diabate of top-ranked Malian group, the Rail Band, and Bouba Sacko, a West African guitarist who has worked with such vocalists as Tata Bambo Kouyate and Ami Koita. This essential 1993 album was a real breakthrough in Malian music, transporting the Kora to the acoustic guitar. Features new, user-friendly cover art that captures the feel & location of the recording.Recorded November 1992 in Bamako, Mali in the Oubien Studio Room direct-to-DAT by Ben Mandelson.
