Description:Cover Painting: "The Bullfight" by Francisco De GOYA. National Gallery of Art, Washington (Gift of Arthur Sachs). Total Playing Time: 43:43 *** Technical Information *** Recorded in Power Symphony Hall, St. Louis on July 17, 1979 Microphones: Schoeps Colette Series Recorder: Soundstream Digital Tape Recorder Console: Neotek Monitor Speakers: ADS BC-8/II bi-amplified Power Amplifiers: Threshold Model 4000 Interconnecting Cables: Audio-Technica Because the outside temperature soared to 100 degrees (Farenheit) during our session, it was unfortunately necessary to leave the air conditioning system in the hall turned on. At the same time, TELARC's philosophy of reproducing the total frequency spectrum precluded any filtering. The rumble is barely audible and on most playback systems should be all but imperceptible. During the recording of the digital masters and the subsequent transfer to disc, the entire audio chain was transformerless. The signal was not passed through any processing device (i.e., compression, limiting, or equalization) at any step during production. Sampling frequency conversion of Telarc's Soundstream digital master to the Compact Disc format was accomplished with the Studer SFC-16 sampling frequency converter. The digital infromation was not subject to any analog intersteps, thus preserving the integrity of the original digital master. Originally released in 1979. Made in Austria

Carmen is one of favorite piece of classical music. Leonard portrays it great. The performance is good. So is recording from Telarc. A bargain at this price. Recommended.
