There isn't a wasted effort anywhere on the album. Masters of War bites as hard as any protest songs that Dylan ever wrote, and Girl From the North Country is a beautiful ballad. All of the songs on this album get better the more you listen to them.

This is a man who doesn't seems too overwhelmed by the weight of expectation (nobel prize, chart position etc) and although some of it might have been produced over many years, other lyrics could have been created on-the-hoof in the moment (either way and a combination of both are totally Dylan). VERY VERY GOOD ALBUM!!!

Like you’ve never heard these before……But not like you’ve never heard them before. Dylan best ofs come slightly less often than Presley and Bowie ones...
