This version of About Time comes as a 1xCD. - =THE TERRY CALLIER STORY 1964-1980=2009 collection from the Folk-Jazz singer/songwriter, spanning the years 1964-80. The compilation begins with Terry's first recordings for the legendary Blues producer Sam Charters which produced a highly collectable album on the Prestige label. It then progresses to his recording for the Cadet subsidiary of Chess, which commenced with the 1966 recording session for his sought after Northern 45 'Look at Me Now' - which crept out three years later. He then returned to the label in the early '70s recording three classic albums overseen by legendary producer and arranger Charles Stepney. This produced such seminal numbers as 'Ordinary Joe', 'Dancing Girl' and 'I Just Can't Help Myself'. We have also manageed to track down the final unreleased track from the sessions 'Hangman' an expressive Folk Soul performance. 17 tracks. BGP.Comes in a clear jewel case with a 12-pg booklet

|  | deejays - 11/Nov/2003 Na, habt ihr auch vor ein paar Monden, als auf VIVA Terry ein paar Vinylscheiben auflegen durfte, in der Nase gebohrt und anschließend den Popel zwischen drei Fingern zu einer Chiottokugel gerollt Nun, wer immer noch rätselt, was Terry so als DJ den Plattentellern zukommen läßt, bzw. in seinem Koffer durch die Lande schleppt, kann ja die Auskunft anrufen oder hier seine bohrenden Fragen selbst beantworten – frei nach dem VIVA-Motto: Selbst ist der Mann. Zu Tage kommen dann 16 Tracks, die aus den unterschiedlichsten Housebereichen kommen. Freunde von preußischer Marschmusik oder Schwuchtelhousekost müssen anderweitig ihren Durst stillen, da Terry mehr in die progressive Richtung geht und kleine Tempowechsel eingebaut hat. Insgesamt ein schöner Housemix, wobei ich auch gestehen muß – ich bin nun kein DJ-Anbeter, der da weinend vor Glück vor den Boxen liegt...

Natürlich dürfen auch die schon zur legende gewordenen House Samples fehlen, die jedem Oldschool-Houser einen freundlichen Schauer über den Rücken schicken.
