Parsons himself digitally remastered all his catalog albums in 2007 using the original master tapes. The difference in sound quality is amazing-each sounds absolutely fantastic. | |  Ernesto Poussif - 14/03/2012  I knew this one very well, because I had the previous (not remastered) version of it.
The sound quality is impressive, even for a remastered version, taking in count it's a 1980 original recording. If you compare this sound with the one from other 1980 recordings, it's awesome. But Alan Parsons as engineer was always doing superior recordings for their times (just remember the recording quality of Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon" and try to compare it with any other 72/73 recording).
I compared the sound of the new CD with the original one. The difference is obvious, but not so deep, thanks to that the original CD had just also a very good quality. Anyway, it deserve's to be upgraded.
What I found disturbing are the added extras (demo tracks, previous discarded studio versions, etc.). Of course you can omit listening them, but "The Turn Of A Friendly Card" is one of this albums to put in the player and seat to relax and listen till the end. And in this new CD, the end is followed with some tracks which doesn't match with the situation. They are unneeded. Anyway, I don't regret to have bought it at all, just for that.
