Extra-Infos: .. Lays Me Down
Description:Noah & The Whale were one of the leading protagonists of the small but perfectly formed indie-folk scene of the early days of the 21st Century Formed in Twickenham, the five-piece, led by vocalist and guitarist Charlie Fink, originally boasted Laura Marling in their line- up, before she left to begin her successful solo career. Released in August 2008, Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down was like a breath of fresh air with its optimistic- yet- realistic worldview and, as The Guardia was to note, its "twinkling acoustic songs, bursting with brass, keyboards and fiddle" were "economic and brimming with sure-footed confidence." Its 11 songs include the group's debut single and signature track, 5 Years Time, which was to become their first UK Top 10 hit. This re-issue is pressed onto high quality 180g vinyl. - .. LAYS ME DOWN
2008 debut album from Noah and the Whale, who are adept at making earnest, poetic music. Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down is a collection of songs that muse on the connections between love, death and time. Though '5 Years Time' is the perfect invitation into their world, it is merely a piece of their puzzle. The songs move effortlessly from the epic grandeur of Arcade Fire to the intimate melancholy of Bonnie 'Prince' Billy but all with a very clear sense of Englishness. 11 tracks. Mercury.
Released in a standard jewel case with 16-page booklet insert of lyrics and artwork and credits. Track 1, 4, 5, 9, 10 recorded at Eastcote Studios. Track 2 recorded at Eastcote Studios and House Of Strange Studios. Track 3, 6, 8 & 11 recorded at Eastcote Studios and Kore Studios. Track 7 recorded at Eastcote Studios and House Of Strange Studios.
