Description:
This is the fifth studio album by the British-American band Rainbow. It was released in 1981. It turned out to be more commercial than the previous ones. The vocalist here is Joe Lynn Turner. Overall, the album is quite good, like almost all of the group's albums.

A contagious disease called “commercialization of material” is indeed very difficult to cure. And the patients suffering from this disease, you will not believe - absolutely do not want to be healthy! Who wants to give up floating gigantic profits from the American continent? Having launched a test ball in the form of "Down To Earth", Richie Blackmore and Roger Glover did not want to refuse this either. Dissatisfied with Cozy Powell and Graham Bonnet were quickly removed, and drummer Bobby Rondinelli and vocalist Joe Lynn Turner became the new members of Rainbow. It was in such a composition that the fifth student was recorded, who received the sparkling name "Difficult To Cure". So, all the apologists for the early Rainbow cry with burning tears - nothing remained of the Dio era. The "refinement" of songs sometimes goes off the beaten track, and Joe certainly plays the biggest role in this. And although I personally dislike this person, I cannot but note his really strong, memorable, and perfect voice for commercial material. The songs on "Difficult To Cure" are twofold. On the one hand there are several extremely successful hits. Such as the super hit of all the mainstream radio stations of the time, the romantic track "I Surrender", a fast and very energetic action movie in the old traditions of Deep Purple "Spotlight Kid", shining with a cool text about the burden of fame. Glover's other good lyrics are featured in the great song "Can't Happen Here", this time about the general fouling of our planet. Well, at the very top of the disk, her recognized king reigned - absolutely magnificent hard rock processing of the famous Beethoven's Ode to Joy, in which both Blackmore and Airy show the breathtaking beauty and technique of the game. But here's the thing - all the rest of the material on the disc is nothing more than a dodger. Gray songs with gray tunes that are forgotten immediately after listening. So the overall rating will have to be greatly reduced, and with this result, "Difficult To Cure" takes first place from the bottom in the Rainbow album charts.

For many, Sabbath is only with Ozzy and Rainbowis with Dio! Difficult to Cure is another Rainbow, distincit from Dio era but still a good rock, with the voice of Joe Lynn Turner. Very good album.
