Yuriy P. - 11/Jun/2023 Talking about the Rainbow concerts of the period 76-77 is possible only in enthusiastic tones! The DioBlackmoreCareyBainPowell line-up worked wonders at the time. Until now, I consider this live line-up one of the best in the history of hard rock. Even after the tour, it fell apart safely, maybe it’s the fault of the quarrelsome Richie, maybe it’s personal misunderstandings between the musicians - the main thing is that when entering the stage, all these prejudices immediately disappeared and uniform magnificence began! Think about it - the duration of the album is a little over an hour, and actually only six songs were performed! The most ingenious have already imagined that improvisation rules the ball. Moreover, the improvisation is absolutely brilliant, not boring for a second and fully demonstrating the highest level of professionalism of each member of Rainbow. "Usually" performed only a completely new composition, the cult action movie "Kill The King", everything else - changed and stretched beyond recognition. "Still I'm Sad" with Tony's amazing solos on "Hammond" and Dio's unexpectedly written lyrics, the famous Perplovsky "Mistreated", finally "Man On The Silver Mountain", in the middle of which a piece of classic blues is inserted, the first verse of "Starstruck ", and breathtaking a cappella from maestro Ronnie.
