Cet opus met en avant la fusion singulière du groupe entre hard rock énergique et influences funk metal ainsi que des ballades acoustiques mémorables comme « More Than Words », devenu un tube mondial emblématique d?Extreme à ce jour encore indétrônable dans leur répertoire. On y retrouve également des titres puissants tels que « Decadence Dance » ou « Get the Funk Out », illustrant toute la polyvalence musicale et la virtuosité technique du groupe sur cet album qui les a définitivement inscrits dans l?histoire du rock international.
Formé en 1985 à Malden (Massachusetts), Extreme s?est rapidement distingué par ses musiciens hors pair ? notamment le guitariste Nuno Bettencourt pour son jeu novateur ? et le charisme vocal de Gary Cherone au chant principal ; leur mélange audacieux de styles musicaux les démarque nettement parmi leurs contemporains et l?immense succès rencontré avec « Pornograffitti » leur vaut reconnaissance critique et commerciale dès le début des années quatre-vingt-dix.
A & M Records est un label prestigieux fondé en 1962 par Herb Alpert et Jerry Moss ; il se distingue depuis toujours par sa capacité à révéler une grande diversité d?artistes majeurs tous horizons confondus : Sting, Janet Jackson ou encore Bryan Adams ont marqué son catalogue riche d?une exigence constante envers la qualité musicale produite sous cette enseigne légendaire. | | | Producteur: |
