Description:Remastered for vinyl. Part of a series of re-issues of the whole TMV vinyl catalogue. -
The Mars Volta returns with the long-awaited follow-up to De-Loused in the Comatorium, FRANCES THE MUTe. FRANCES THE MUTE continues TMV's tradition of pushing the boundaries of modern music through thought-provoking lyrics and musical twists and turns. The new single is "The Widow."
The CD packaging specifies the fifth track name as "Cassandra Geminni". However, the artist website and the vinyl release of this album specify its name as "Cassandra Gemini". The movements of this track (Tarantism / Plant A Nail In The Navel Stream / Faminepulse / Multiple Spouse Wounds / Sarcophagi) listed here do not align with the track splits on CD (tracks 5-12). The inside back cover gives the lyrics to a track called "Frances The Mute" despite this track not appearing on the CD. Engineered at: 373 Ewingsdale, Byron Bay, Australia. 6540 Matilija, Van Nuys, California. 291 South Lake Street, Burbank, California. 3400 Eagle Rock Blvd, Loa Angeles, California. 453 Mario Julia Industrial Park, San Juan, Puerto Rico. 5161 North Cartwright Ave, N Hollywood, California. 3222 Los Feliz Blvd, Los Angeles, California. 441 W. 53rd Street, New York City, New York. "Frances The Mute" is the second studio album by the progressive rock band The Mars Volta, released in 2005 on CD format by Universal. This ambitious concept album takes listeners on a sonic journey through intricate compositions, blending elements of progressive rock, jazz fusion, Latin rhythms and experimental soundscapes. With its complex storytelling and dynamic arrangements, "Frances The Mute" has been praised for pushing musical boundaries and showcasing the band's technical prowess. Standout tracks like "Cygnus...Vismund Cygnus" and "L'Via L'Viaquez" highlight their unique style and emotional intensity. The Mars Volta was formed in 2001 by Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López after their previous band At The Drive-In disbanded. Known for their energetic live performances and genre-defying albums, they quickly gained critical acclaim with their debut "De-Loused in the Comatorium." Their innovative approach to music has earned them a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance as well as a dedicated global fanbase. Universal Music Group is one of the world?s leading music companies with an extensive catalog spanning all genres. Renowned for supporting groundbreaking artists across decades, Universal continues to shape modern music culture through innovation and commitment to artistic excellence.

One of the best prog-rock albums there are. Ambient sections are also really good.
