Eugene S. - 2024年 09月 24日 The third studio album by American heavy metal band Anthrax. It was released on March 16, 1987. The album is dedicated to Cliff Burton of Metallica, who died in a bus accident six months before its release while Metallica were on tour with Anthrax as the opening act. I recommend.

HYUNG RAE K. - 2020年 04月 13日 This is anthrax's 3rd studio album. Joey Belladona's vocal is so nice but twin guitar is not better than metallica and megadeth.

INWOO S. - 2019年 07月 13日 Anthrax's thrash metal classic. Really exciting album that has lots of good riffs. I think this album made anthrax to the member of thrash metal Big 4.

Alexander S. - 2019年 07月 11日 Undoubtedly, "Among the Living" is the best record in Anthrax history. After the magnificent "Spreading the Disease" the guys decided to make the next album faster, tougher and more aggressive, and they completely succeeded. The album is perfect in all respects — Scott Yen's crushing riffs, powerful rhythm section from Charlie Benante and the inimitable Frank Bello, excellent guitar solos by Dan Spitz and, of course, Joey Belladona’s inimitable vocals. The guys did an excellent job and gave 100 percent.
All songs are heard in one breath, there are no walk-through tracks here. All the songs are literally packed with drive and energy, and the lyrics are full of humor, which distinguished Anthrax from the majority of thrash groups of that time. From my favorites, I will highlight the killer "Caught in a Mosh" with a wonderful bass guitar introduction, the matchless "Efilnikufesin (NFL)", which tells about the life of the famous American comedian John Belushi, who died of an overdose in 1982, the amazing "Indians" and "Imitation of Life", which is a kind of hymn against glam metal. The album was dedicated to Cliff Burton, bassist Metallica, who died in a car accident in 1986.
Summing up, we can safely say that "Among the Living" is the most significant in the history of Anthrax. In a sense, it is even a turning point, because after it the guys started playing a bit in a different direction - but this is not so bad at all, because the band released 2 more wonderful albums before Belladon was dismissed from the group for permanent drunkenness. The album was republished in 2000 as a double along with "Persistence of Time" in Germany, and around the world in 2009 as a deluxe edition along with a bonus DVD. "Among the Living" is an undoubted classic of thrash and speed metal and deserves only the highest praise.
