"Spiderland" by Slint is a groundbreaking album released in CD format, produced by Touch & Go/Cargo. Originally released in 1991, "Spiderland" has become an iconic record within the post-rock and math rock genres, renowned for its haunting atmosphere, intricate guitar work, and dynamic song structures. The six tracks on this album showcase Slint's unique ability to blend spoken word passages with explosive crescendos and minimalist arrangements. Over time, "Spiderland" has achieved cult status among music enthusiasts and is often cited as a major influence on countless bands that followed. Slint was formed in Louisville, Kentucky in the late 1980s. Despite their brief initial existence and limited discography?primarily consisting of just two albums?the band left an indelible mark on alternative music scenes worldwide. Their innovative approach to songwriting and sound design set them apart from their contemporaries; "Spiderland," especially, is praised for its emotional intensity and experimental edge. Touch & Go Records (distributed by Cargo) is a highly respected independent label known for championing underground artists across punk rock, indie rock, noise rock, and more since the early 1980s. With a reputation for artistic integrity and supporting influential acts such as Big Black, Shellac or The Jesus Lizard alongside Slint themselves, Touch & Go remains synonymous with quality releases that push musical boundaries.

This is one of those records that are truly unique and by listening to this album you open many doors to different bands and music genres. It is very fairly considered one of the first post-rock albums although there are also some post-hardcore influences. And also an iconic album cover that truly matches what you hear

One of my favorite albums from the 90's. This is a highly tensed and very dramatic American Meth-Rock that in my opinion has an enormous influence on both metal and alt-rock later on. Only 6 tracks that close almost 40 minutes, but each track is a killer. The sound on the CD is great. the art is very minimal (too minimal actually). The nice front picture is by Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. In retrospect, Maybe I should have bought this on a record rather than a CD. Other than that - This is a brilliant rock album
