?She Hangs Brightly? es el álbum debut del grupo estadounidense de rock alternativo Mazzy Star y fue lanzado en formato CD por Capitol Records en 1990. Este disco icónico presentó al mundo el característico sonido envolvente y melancólico del dúo: guitarras hipnóticas y atmósferas oníricas acompañadas por la voz única de Hope Sandoval destacan especialmente en temas como ?Halah?, ?Blue Flower? o la propia canción homónima ?She Hangs Brightly?. Su ambiente nostálgico e introspectivo ha convertido este trabajo en una obra de culto para los amantes del dream pop y el indie alternativo. Mazzy Star nació en Santa Mónica (California) con Hope Sandoval como vocalista principal y David Roback a la guitarra; juntos crearon una mezcla singular entre folk psicodélico y matices bluseros que influenció profundamente a generaciones posteriores dentro del panorama independiente internacional gracias también al éxito mundial posterior con su sencillo más famoso: ?Fade Into You?. Capitol Records es uno de los sellos discográficos más emblemáticos e influyentes desde su fundación en Estados Unidos allá por 1942; responsable del desarrollo artístico tanto de leyendas históricas como The Beatles o Pink Floyd hasta superestrellas actuales como Katy Perry?siempre marcando tendencia dentro del universo musical global.

I am giving this album five stars because it is Mazzy Star. But it is really 4.5 stars. There are three must-have albums before you get to this one. Look for 'So Tonight That I Might See', 'Among My Swan' and what is proving hard to get these days on CD: 'Seasons of Your Day'. These are the three strongest albums. 'She Hangs Brightly' comes in fourth but is by no means a weak album. There are a couple of stand-out tracks but the whole album recedes a little bit when compared to the others. If you are a Mazzy Star fan, you will get this. If you are starting out, start with the other albums and you will come to this one eventually.
