Third well conceived, album, for these hardened finnish knights of melodeath. The Platter is fluid, hard and melodic at the same time; each element seems to be where it has to be. As solid statement we can feel that the Gotheburg base is fully respected. Every song is good, and despite of some evident references to In flames (Devoid of Caring) and Opeth (Last Statement, one of the best song of the entire tracklist), there are no missteps. The voice is well blended with the notes, and this creates a surrounding tide of emotions while the sighed choruses added at the right moments, as in example during the last great long track "In the grooves of death".

One of the great masterpiece of Finnish melodeath masters Insomnium. Since this album, Insomnium became one of the greatest melodeath band ever exists.
