Dragan J. - 29.09.2022 Opeth is on the top of the game with this one!
Driving guitars, voice and lyrics at the right place!
Fantastic music, even for the new fans
| | Vladimir G. - 24.05.2020 Masterful album, even though it's not a fan favorite. A slightly progressive nod to the old school of death metal. Andy Sneap's mix is fantastic.
| | Juan Antonio V. - 01.10.2014 Este disco es simplemente increíble.. la mezcla entre el sonido crudo de las guitarras electricas y el ambiente acustico, dan carisma al disco .. sonido inigualable de Opeth.
| | Gianandrea S. - 15.07.2014 Everything about this album is ingenius. This is he reason why i love Opeth.
"Wreath" is my least favorite track, mainly because of it's intense drums and its relentlessness
"Deliverance" is classic Opeth, opening up to intensity, and with slow beauty in the middle, and ending with a part that may seem repetative, but it really grows on me because of the background guitar.
"A Fair Judgement" is one of my favorite opeth track since orchid. It can even be likable by non-metalheads. here is no gutteral voice, just Mikael doing what I think he does best, his beautiful softer voice, but..not to be outshined by the guitar that is amazing in this song.
"For Absent Friends" is the intermission of the CD, but not to be taken as such, beause it is a master of work and so beautiful in every way.
"Masters Apprentice" is insane as hell at the beginning, i love it. I believe that the softer part is the best, because of its jolt into electricity when Mikael turns into the monster. This is Beautiful. My Favorite with the gutteral voice.
"By The Pain I See In Others" is just as intense as the prior songs, but..somehow more catchy than any other opeth. The end gets weird and back to the presumptuousness of opeth, that is well deserved. Ihope to god that Opeth proves themselves to be actual gods, and never die.
