Description:UK reissue of the 1970 debut album for the British Folk act compared to Fairport Convention. Divided between traditional Folk covers ('The Great Silkie' is the best) and Tobias Boshell originals, Gardens of Jane Delawney remains a fine album on par with Fairport Convention, Pentangle and Steeleye Span albums of the era. Oddly enough, main songwriter Boshell eventually joined Kiki Dee's band and wrote her biggest hit, the oft-covered 'I've Got the Music in Me'! Nine tracks including 'Nothing Special', 'Lady Margaret' and 'She Moved Through the Fair'. Sony/BMG.
Originally released in 1970. Tracks 10 to 13 are bonus tracks. 16-page booklet contains liner notes from David Costa, archive photos and credits. Standard CD jewel case with clear tray. Original album recorded March 1970 at Sound Techniques, Chelsea, London. Track 10 and 11 recorded at Bond Street in August / September 1969. Track 12 and 13 recorded at Unit 2 Studio, London, July 2008. On the original LP two engineers are credited: Mike FitzHenry and Vic Gamm. On the CD reissue only Vic Gamm is credited. ? &? 2008 Sony BMG Music Entertainment (UK) Ltd. Made in the EU
