At the beginning of their career, The Ocean had a more crazy driven sound, less entwined in a musical structure same as following releases (i.e.: Heliocentric); accordingly with the concept of this double album, the approach to music is much more built around the single song; and each song shows its genial essence when it makes you totally unable to argue the way it will prosecute in the next minute. I had the same feeling listening "Leviathan" by Mastodon many years ago. First I hate it, the I loved it. PRecambrian is the incarnation of this primordial energy; it's not a easy-consume album. It requires several approaches to disrupt the first coat of fury and penetrate the hidden geometry of this interesting opus.
