John Bunch's album from 1977 introduced his two protégés, tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton and trumpeter Warren Vache Jr.. Opening the CD is the old Claude Hopkins theme "I Would Do Anything for You," and a haunting Strayhorn theme, "Lotus Blossom" is also included, plus "The Man I Love," a marvelous double-time romp on the Gershwin standard. Along for the ride is bassist Michael Moore and drummer Connie Kay.
Recorded January 7 and August 15, 1977 in New York City. Tracks 1 to 8 first issued on Famous Door LP HL-114. Tracks 9 to 15 are previously unissued. Total Time: 67:08
