| Description: | Etta Scollo is the most famous singer of traditional music from sicily and she has carried out research on sicilian popular music for long. This album is a special project in which she transforms into songs some arab poems dated xith century. Etta Scollo sings and plays her guitar and is also accompanied by the string quartet l'ottava nota, and the wroclaw score and Berlin pops orchestras. The album also features guest performances by renowned arab musicians as well as of franco battiato, giovanni sollima, nabil salameh (radiodervish), markus stockhausen etc.. Including a booklet in 4 languages with the translations of the lyrics.Songs inspired by the thousand-year-old Arabian poetry of Sicily
All the verses in Arabic are originals by Sicilian Arab poets who lived and wrote between the 9th and 12th centuries.
