â? Die britische Heavy-Metal-Band Angel Witch wurde 1976 in London als Teil der New Wave of British Heavy Metal-Bewegung (auch bekannt als NWOBHM) gegründet.
Ihr selbstbetiteltes Debütalbum wurde ursprünglich 1980 veröffentlicht und zeigt das Gemälde The Fallen Angels Entering Pandemonium von John Martin auf dem Cover. Die damalige Besetzung der Band bestand aus Kevin Heybourne, Kevin Riddles und Dave Hogg.
Das Album enthält ihren bisher erfolgreichsten Song "Angel Witch".
Angel Witch ist in einer limitierten Auflage von 1000 einzeln nummerierten Exemplaren auf "Black Clouds" Vinyl erhältlich. - .. ANNIVERSARY -DELUXE EDITION-Digitally remastered and expanded two CD 30th Anniversary edition of the British Metal band's 1980 release. Disc One contains the original album and BBC Friday Rock Show session tracks while Disc Two features rare demos, alternative versions and twelve inch single mixes. Angel Witch's eponymous debut draws heavily upon satanic and witchcraft imagery with the band's sound displaying a fiercely dark mixture of gothic melody mixed with weighty guitar riffs comparable to vintage Black Sabbath.
