Their debut, Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show was released in 1971, followed by Sloppy Seconds in 1972, then Belly Up! In 1973. Igor V. - 15/May/2017 In distant (already distant, how quickly time flies) 70th years my parents' acquaintances brought the second LP of the group Dr. Hook to a small provincial town of one of the republics of the ex-USSR. The music of this album did not interest adults, parents liked Barry White kind performers. But to me and my friends - while teenagers - music was a kind of discovery.Beautiful melodies, characteristic vocals, playful performance, tear-ballads, what else is needed for small school parties. Even later, a couple of years later we heard Smokie, who were very popular in the USSR, and who copied some hits of the Dr.Hook band.
