The C est Chic! album comprises a dozen specially selected highlights from the top-selling CD of the same title (CDCHD 1283), issued to rave reviews on the Ace International label a couple of years ago. Many of the premier female vocalists to emerge from France during the 60s are featured, including adorable cover girl France Gall, cult favourite Jacqueline Taïeb, top Gallic girl group Les Gam s and iconic singer-songwriter Françoise Hardy. The album is pressed on 180g coloured vinyl and comes in a sumptuously illustrated heavy stock gatefold jacket featuring a 3,000 word track commentary by the in-house girl pop connoisseurs Malcolm Baumgart and Mick Patrick. - = FRENCH GIRL SINGERS OF THE 1960S =2010 collection of fabulous French female Pop artists from the '60s. Comprising 24 tracks by 20 acts - Françoise Hardy, France Gall, Jacqueline Taïeb and the country's top girl group Les Gam's are each represented by two titles - C'est Chic! Features many of the premier female stars of Gallic pop, plus a few French-singing non-nationals for good measure. The majority of the songs here are French compositions, but astute listeners will recognize some others in their English language originals.
