Digitally and completely re-mastered, this sumptuous edition includes 6 previously unreleased tracks taken from the Master Tape of RCA America, which in contemporary with the film release (1977) published the music and dialogues on a LP, nowadays very difficult to find. Amongst the rich filmography of Maurice Jarre this film score is an absolute masterpiece, in which, without being swayed, Jarre was able to deal with a subject that easily opens the way to traditional mystical music compositions. Though it was the year 1977, the musical approach of Maurice Jarre is topical and dramatically modern.
