By the time that John Gary Williams recorded this album for Stax he was one of the label's veterans, having been signed as a member of the Mad Lads since the middle of the mid-60s. Now remembered as the home of soul dance 'The Whole Damn World Is Going Crazy' is a fantastic piece of southern soul showcasing John Gary's voice on an album's worth of largely down-tempo material. Recorded at Stax and featuring most of the musicians from Isaac Hayes' group, the Movement, it is an undoubted collectors classic.
