This version of R&B Spotlight comes as a 2xCD. - 2011 two CD collection that compiles 60 tracks by various artists selected from the US charts of 1960. All of the songs were R&B and/or pop hits and many have become classics of the genre. The artists include legends like Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Fats Domino, the Coasters, Ruth Brown, Lavern Baker, Joe Turner and the Platters. This release, which includes full details of the original label issues, is the third in an ongoing series chronicling Rhythm & Blues hits year by year. The informative booklet notes are authored by respected Echoes/Record Collector journalist Mike Atherton. A parallel series, Soul Breakout, is released simultaneously.
