Description:
The first new Trio Mediaeval album in four years and the first since STELLA MARIS to feature medieval music: A WORCESTER LADYMASS is eagerly awaited. The album presents a reconstruction of a 13th century votive Mass to the Virgin Mary, based on manuscripts and fragments originating in a Benedictine Abbey in the English Midlands. Inserted amid the medieval music are a Credo and Benedicamus Domino specially written for this program by Gavin Byars, one of the several leading contemporary composers who has championed the Trio since the beginning of it's history. The old and the new, literally and conceptually, intermingle in the work of this vocal ensemble.
