 | Description: | Lingering through the tipsy midnight and immersing yourself in an intriguing French romantic atmosphere, you should dance with the melodies in Chanson De Cabaret, and fill the room with beautiful Chanson, Tango Latin Jazz and Bossa Nova. The album consists of numerous famous and familiar classic songs. There is J'attendrai, a song also appears in two movies, a Good Year and Das Boot; La Mer, once presented by the French national Chanson singer, Charles Trenet; Comme d'habitude, the original song of Paul Anka's hit, My Way; Autumn Leaves, a classic jazz song once reditioned by Nat King Cole and Cannonball Adderley; and also, La Vie en Rose and J'ai Dans Avec L'amour, two songs sung for half of the century by "La Môme" Edith Piaf. All of those are beautifully interpreted by contemporary female vocalists. Isabelle Antena, the queen of French Bossa Nova, renders two romantic songs, Syracuse and Toutes Les Etoiles de Tunesie; Carol Welsman, the winner of Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards for Album of the Year, presents Dans Cette Chambre; and Elsie Parker & the Poor People of Paris from St. Louis deeply offers Insensiblement to tickle your Cool Jazz nerves; Valerie Ahneman's Comme D'habitude is more of a sadly tango; Sandra Le Couteur presents C'est L'hiver sur la Plaine with such a touching melancholy; the sweet J'm'en Fous Pas Mal is interpreted by bilingual Annie Royer; and the Autumn Leaves by Carolin Daly reminds the audience of the favorable Judy Garland and Edith Piaf. 30 chansons, 30 memories of the good old days. Needless to say, Chanson De Cabaret is an album of the unforgettables. | | No. of tracks: |
