Ever since their 2003 debut album, SPIRIT OF THE FOREST, Korpiklaani have continuously made their way to absolute top of the Humppa (Finnish Polka) metal scene. 2009s KARKELO (Finnish for "Party") made an impact in the States on tours such as the Paganfest and others. Fans call their music "Drinking-Metal" or "Party-Metal" as they write cheerful, fun-loving folk songs that are undeniably catchy. UKON WACKA is a reference to a Pagan, sacrificial feast from ancient Finland where drink and food were plentiful. It has a very ancient and heavily folk-influenced feel and is completely sung in Finnish, save for one powerful song. Every album has a tribute to an alcoholic beverage "Beer Beer", "Let's Drink", "Vodka" and now "Tequila," dedicated to their South American fans! This is truly a joyous affair in the traditional and beloved Korpiklaani vein, boasting ten party tracks that make you want to raise a glass and party til dawn. UKON WACKA also features a cover song by fellow brothers-in-cirrhosis, Motorhead - a must-listen for all fans.
