"Amongst The Catacombs of Nephren-Ka" es el álbum debut revolucionario de Nile y fue lanzado en formato CD por Relapse Records en 1998. Este disco marcó un antes y un después dentro del death metal técnico gracias a su velocidad vertiginosa, arreglos complejos e integración única de temáticas del antiguo Egipto tanto lírica como musicalmente. Formados en Carolina del Sur en 1993, los miembros de Nile se destacaron rápidamente por su virtuosismo e innovación sonora al combinar riffs demoledores con pasajes atmosféricos envolventes; sus siguientes trabajos han sido ampliamente reconocidos por la crítica especializada dentro del ámbito extremo internacionalmente. El sello discográfico estadounidense Relapse Records ha apoyado desde su fundación en 1990 a artistas pioneros dentro de distintos géneros musicales pesados y ha sido fundamental para dar proyección mundial a bandas emergentes como Nile.
