Eugene S. - 12.12.2024 The fourth studio album by the British hard rock band Rainbow. In 2005, Down to Earth was ranked number 431 in Rock Hard magazine's book The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time. I recommend.
| | Vitali T. - 31.10.2023 This is the fourth studio album by the British-American band Rainbow. It was released in 1979. It turned out to be more commercial than the previous ones. The vocalist here is Graham Bonnet. The album turned out to be quite powerful in sound. Typical hard rock.
| | Valeriy R. - 29.08.2021 The classical album from the monsters of melodic hard rock. A Polydor remastered version, rather budget and without bonuses. But the guitar of Ritchie Blackmore and the voice of Graham Bonnet compensate all cons. Highly recommended!
| | Alexander S. - 14.01.2020 The fourth studio student of the Rainbow band has a very symbolic name. It was "closer to the ground" at that time that Richie Blackmore wanted to be. That is, the great guitarist lost interest in fantasy hard rock and decided to try himself in hard rock commercial, that is, pro-American. Disagreeing with such a course, the team leaves Ronnie James Dio, and with it that magic, that spark that ran through each note of any song of the first three Rainbow albums, irrevocably disappears. With such a gap in the composition, the next loss of the bass player and keyboard player is no longer taken seriously. And then Richie comes to the rescue of an old friend - Roger Glover himself, who played with Blackmore in Deep Purple. He willingly agrees to take the bass in his hands, and at the same time to become the producer of the team. After that, the creative duet of two friends becomes the new Rainbow “motor”, which is beginning to firmly gain momentum. Don Airy's young talent becomes the keyboard, and experienced British vocalist Graham Bonnet takes the place at the microphone. It was in this composition that Down To Earth was recorded. This disk has become a real bridge between the past and the future - the influences of the classic hard are still strong, but a purely commercial approach to writing material is already clearly visible. All lovers of Dio texts about all kinds of medieval sorcerers will face cruel disappointment - the local pearls tell exclusively about the eternal theme - women, that is. The music has undergone the same changes, instead of pompous and beautiful arrangements, please be kind enough to listen to the parts simplified to the level of some Grand Funk. But! My advice is: don't look back. And then you will understand that this disc (for its style) is simply magnificent. Two super hits of all time “All Night Long” and “Since You Been Gone”, an extremely serious and darkly elevated epic “Eyes Of The World”, a completely hurricane action movie “Lost In Hollywood” with a brilliant text about the burden of glory, finally , undeservedly deprived of attention heavy blues "Love's No Friend" - all these are songs of the highest quality. Bonnet's hoarse and courageous voice suited the new sound of the group as well as possible, all the other musicians also worked without corrections. The result is the best work from all Rainbow CDs without Dio, an absolutely magnificent (albeit commercial through and through) album.
| | Ivica S. - 20.05.2018 Graham Bonet is comming after DIo but... - I can say: Such a great singer - a great Rainbow album - I recommend
| | Andraz Z. - 07.06.2015 When Dio left Rainbow everyone was sceptic, but this release is still a killer. You can still hear the tipical Blackmore/Rainbow's sound but with a "pop" touch in it. "Down To Earth" contains the well-known cover of "Since You Been Gone".
This is the remastered version and believe me the sound of "The Rainbow Remasters" series has not been ruined as it usually happens, but improved!
Incluye los éxitos "Since You Been Gone" y "All Night long".
