OLEG L. - 08.02.2022 This is debut album 1975 by Rainbow. Classic hard rock and great melodic created by legendary guitar Ritchie Blackmore and legendary vocal Ronnie James Dio. High recommendation.
| | Yuriy P. - 27.01.2022 So, in 1975, the great rock guitarist Ritchie Blackmore was finally bored with being a member of the famous Deep Purple band. Richie turned out to be prudent, for his solo project a year ago the foundation was prepared, which was the young American team Elf. So, when the time came, the guitarist was simply removed from this band, and Blackmore took his place. His new colleagues are keyboardist Mickey Lee Soul, drummer Gary Driscoll, bassist Craig Gruber and, of course, vocalist Ronnie James Dio. The group was renamed Rainbow, and soon their debut album appeared on store shelves. The band's music was the most beautiful British hard rock, distinguished primarily by the most interesting and very unusual texts written in a medieval mystical style by Maestro Dio, his own unique voice and, of course, the virtuoso guitar parts of the "man in black". As for the quality of the songs, the answer is unambiguous - Rainbow's debut album can safely be called one of their best works. Personally, in my hit parade, this masterpiece is firmly in second place. A significant role in this is played by the fact that half of the tracks given are already living classics of hard rock. The powerful action movie "16th Sentury Greensleeves" strikes on the spot with its energy and pressure, the magnificent instrumental "Still I'm Sad" inscribes golden pages in the layer of knowledge about the technique of playing the guitar in hard rock, the gentlest ballad "Catch The Rainbow" awakens the brightest in the soul the senses. Well, the album's opening super hit of all times and peoples "Man On The Silver Mountain", perhaps, does not need any introduction. But how pleasant it is to realize the fact that a few more sort of "non-obvious" hits are waiting for the listener on this disc. For example, the completely hypnotic and mysterious composition "Self Portrait" or the completely acoustic, almost folk, fairy-tale epic "The Temple Of The King". You can listen to this album forever, look for some beautiful chords hidden in the depths of the arrangements, rethink the lyrics that are difficult for instant understanding. This album is like an unshakable monument to the bygone glory of classic hard rock. This album will be listened to anytime, anywhere. This album is a real gem that is known to last forever.
| | Azmi Y. - 11.10.2018 Superb and very distinct rock album ever done by ritchie blackmore.
| | Ivica S. - 20.05.2018 The legendary first album - Still I'm Sad, Man on the Silver Mountain, Catch The Rainbow, Temple of the King: even today, Ritchie performs these songs LIVE - I recommend
| | Eduardo F. - 20.10.2017 A lot of classic tunes in this one, having some hard rocking songs like Black Sheep of Family and Snake Charmer side by side with beautiful neo classical ballads like Catch the Rainbow and The Temple of the King.
| | Marco M. - 14.08.2017 Masterpiece. Hard to find words already unsaid about Rainbow. Simply keep this hard rock cauldron of melodies and leave your ears fly between the gentle strings of this alchimist of music called Mr Blackmore.
| | Vitali T. - 19.02.2017 The first album of the legendary Ritchie. It was drafted in 1975 year. There is a super-ballad Still I'm Sad. Listen and enjoy.
| | Christopher Thelen - 09.11.2010 It can never be said of Ritchie Blackmore that he hasn’t followed his own convictions. When he felt Deep Purple – a band he helped establish – was goi...
| | Mikhail A. - 30.05.2015 On this disc Rainbow make it clear that Deep Purple has a decent brother. Debut albums are sometimes not so strong, but this is simply a masterpiece. The collection recommend to everyone!
| | Aitor T. - 18.05.2014 Buen disco, aunque lo mejor estaba por llegar. Aun así, hay grandes temas como Man on the Silver Mountain, Catch the Rainbow o la versión de Still I'm Sad. Un grupo fundamental para los amantes del heavy rock.
