 | Beschreibung: | Following the success of their last album, Timelapse, this new album from Orchestra of the Swan is a collection of extraordinary works connected by ideas of pilgrimage, contemplation, exploration and enlightenment through the works of composers such as Richter, Respighi, Britten, Piazzolla, Brian Eno, Nico Muhly, Joy Division and more. As with Timelapse, the joy is to be found in discovering the surprising and delightful connections between culturally disparate and musically contrasting time periods. Labyrinths have been an important part of humanity's cultural landscape for thousands of years; from the Ancient Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur to the intriguing stories of Jorge Luis Borges and Umberto Eco. Our overwhelming desire to find patterns and 'the hidden truth' is perhaps nowhere more evident than in the subversive and complex vistas of music. Formed in 1995, Orchestra of the Swan is a British chamber orchestra which, under the artistic direction of David Le Page, is passionate about audience inclusivity and blurring the lines between genres, through it's adventurous and accessible programming., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Artwork [Cover design]: Shutterstock, Conductor: Daniele Rosina, Design [Cover]: Matt Conn, Engineer: Mike Hatch, Engineer [Assistant]: Joshua Mannall, Liner Notes, Leader, Music Director [Artistic Director], Engineer [Editor]: David Le Page, Orchestra: Orchestra Of The Swan, Producer: Toby Young, Composed By: Max Richter, Composed By: Ottorino Respighi, Oboe: Victoria Brawn, Arranged By: David Le Page, Composed By: Anonymous, Percussion [Darbuka]: Guy Schalom, Saxophone: Trish Clowes, Arranged By, Piano: David Gordon (5), Composed By: Dieterich Buxtehude, Violin: David Le Page, Arranged By, Vocals: Jim Moray, Composed By: Henry Purcell, Composed By, Violin: David Le Page, Composed By: Nico Muhly, Flute: Diane Clarke, Guitar: Mark Ashford, Harpsichord: David Gordon (5), Arranged By, Vocals: Jim Moray, Composed By: Traditional, Arranged By, Violin: David Le Page, Composed By: Yann Tiersen, Harp: Eleanor Turner, Arranged By: Eduardo Garcia (7), Clarinet: Sally Harrop, Composed By: Astor Piazzolla, Arranged By, Violin: David Le Page, Composed By: Bernard Sumner, Composed By: Ian Curtis, Composed By: Peter Hook, Composed By: Stephen Morris, Composed By, Saxophone: Trish Clowes, Composed By: Benjamin Britten, French Horn: Francesca Moore-Bridger, Tenor Vocals: Nicky Spence, Arranged By: David Le Page, Composed By: Syd Barrett, Saxophone: Trish Clowes, Arranged By: Rosemary Furniss, Composed By: Peter Maxwell Davies, Violin: David Le Page, Arranged By, Violin: David Le Page, Composed By: Brian Eno, Harp: Eleanor Turner, Labelcode SGUK694.2 (SIGCD694), Phonographic Copyright (p) Orchestra Of The Swan, Copyright (c) Signum Records Ltd., Recorded At Saffron Hall | | Herstellernummer: |
