Singer/writer/producer/arranger/bandleader WAYNE SHANKLIN is chiefly remembered for writing songs like 'Jezebel', 'Chanson D'Amour', 'Primrose Lane' and 'The Big Hurt', million sellers for Frankie Laine, Art & Dotty Todd, Jerry Wallace and Miss Toni Fisher, respectively.

Although he was a considerably more prolific (and successful) songwriter than recording artist, Shanklin cut a highly-regarded LP, 'The Modern Minstrel', plus a couple of 45s, all of which appear on this special compilation.
