Ivica S. - 22.11.2020 I strongly recommend this Item: Well remastered, good sound, clear, not so loud or overproduced, good clarity. For Suzi: 5 stars
| | Alexander S. - 21.06.2020 She always wanted to return to that time, and not to say that in the 90s and zero this was unsuccessful; rather, not entirely convincing. However, Suzy Quattro continued to do her job: compose and play. Already on the machine, because otherwise it just can not. I wonder how this longplay would have turned out, if it were not for the unexpected help of my son. At the time of composing one of the songs, Richard-Leonard Taki, who turned out to be an excellent guitar player, approached Susie's mother, offered a relevant riff, and generally admitted that he would like to compose something with her, and as a result was accepted into the group. Fresh blood determined both the sound and mood of the album. However, if we talk about freshness, Taki is not so young: this year the “youth” turned 35. In addition to him, keyboardists Jazz Davis, drummer Tim Riland, saxophonist Ray Beavis, trombone player Toby Gucklehorn, trumpeter Dick Hanson and backing vocalists Dionne Moss and Louise Hartley. Suzy herself, in addition to the bass, played acoustic guitar and percussion. Mike Curtis wrote the material, and Christian Wright did the mastering on “Abbey Road”. Everything sounded like real rock, already without the prefix “starter”. Suzy, without going too far, speaks in new songs about the eternal: awareness of her place in this world, boundaries that should not be violated, so as not to go where it is not necessary, love, both to neighbors and to the whole world and, of course, about music, comparing it with eternity. She speaks about all this in a good rock and roll language, as she sees and understands, and she has enough reasons, impressions, and everything else for that. As befits a wise man, Suzy sets out everything simply and clearly. So much so that it is not clear why in the booklet for each song it was necessary to add to the history of their creation a brief description of the meaning that is already visible on the surface? Well, the author knows better. So for those who were waiting for Susie Quattro's album, I would not advise you to listen to “No Control”, because this is not Susie's work, but Susan Kay Quatro.
